In this tradition we venerate Ganesha as the remover of obstacles and patron of new beginnings. During this festival we install a beautiful clay idol of Ganesha in our ashram, which will be the object of veneration throughout the day. The celebration begins with morning puja, during which mantras dedicated to Lord Ganesha are sung. Modak, traditional sweet dumplings, are especially offered to Ganesha during this festival.
